FUTURES Intensives is the same free 12-session program as FUTURES Core. You cover identity, community, action, and what you build next. The difference is pace. Twice a week for six weeks, instead of once a week for 12. Fall 2026 cohorts are open. Sign-ups close the day before your cohort starts.

Our Philosophy
Six weeks is a short window. We use it well. You cover identity, community, action, and what you build next. Twice a week, with the same people, until they are your people.
By week six, you will not feel like you just finished a program. You will feel like you built something.
Learning that you don’t need to be perfect or an expert to show up for your community was a big realization for me. As someone with an invisible disability I felt like most disability spaces weren’t for me, or that I wasn’t disabled enough for them. This program made me realize that there is a spot for me in these spaces.

The FUTURES Flow

The Intensives experience
Two sessions per week with your cohort. Discussions, creative workshops, and skill-building. Online or in person.
Beyond the Program
Stay connected with your cohort. Come back for monthly alumni events. Join the national community at AccessFest.
Regardless of which program you join, you can expect:
Creative Workshops
Hands-on sessions on disability justice, identity, and community. Every cohort covers the same ground.
Community
Your cohort meets twice a week for six weeks. Together you will build a community.
Social Impact
Explore how to make a difference on issues that matter to you. Name your experience, and figure out how to mobilize change.
Eligibility
FUTURES is open to:
- 18 to 30 years old
- Disabled, neurodivergent, or both
- Young people who are 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, or Indigenous are always welcome
- Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or people who hold Refugee status
- Ready to attend two sessions per week and do some work on your own between sessions. Able to commit to shared programming and independent work
I didn’t have many struggles with motivation because it was so accessible. I could log in on Zoom, be on or off camera, and only use chat when needed. My energy levels are very low during the times the program ran, so I usually did my sessions from bed.

Your Disability does not need to look a certain way. Invisible Disability, late diagnosis, undiagnosed. All of it is welcome here. You do not need to prove anything to be here.
